Expo Haarlemmermeer becomes Expo Greater Amsterdam

Event location Expo Haarlemmermeer, near Amsterdam and Schiphol airport,  is now called Expo Greater Amsterdam. This name change is the start for the location to aim more on an international audience. “We are in the middle of the conurbation and practically next to Schiphol. In our area, there are 8000 hotel beds to book for international guests, of which 5000 hotel beds are connected to a direct bus lane. Now that our conference section has been renewed and we are allowed to travel once more, we hope to attract even more international congresses and other event”, explains Barbara Loosveld of Expo Greater Amsterdam.

Expo Greater Amsterdam, that exists since 2002 and formally was located in the building of the Floriade, has been an established name for larger public events for years. Late last year, the area behind the main entrance was renovated and remodeled, and has now become a compact section for congresses with a spacious Foyer, a Auditorium and five sub-spaces. This is the place for congresses and other sorts of events up until 400 persons, with of course the possibility to expand to the four enormous halls of 22.000 square metres. Since, the Expo has become more interesting for the business market. Barbara: “A few people know that we, besides the RAI, are the largest event location within Amsterdam and its surroundings. There is plenty of potential. Especially internationally.”
